X(Twitter) May Introduce Monthly Charges, Elon Musk Weighs In

Elon Musk, the visionary behind the online platform X(Twitter), is actively exploring the prospect of introducing a modest monthly fee for all users in an effort to combat the pervasive issue of automated bots plaguing the platform.

Musk’s strategic alterations to the platform, which he acquired for a substantial $44 billion investment last October, have been generating considerable attention.

These transformative adjustments encompass a substantial reduction in the workforce, the introduction of a premium subscription option, a streamlined approach to content moderation, and the contentious decision to reinstate previously banned accounts, including the former President of the United States, Donald Trump.

Musk’s rationale for contemplating user fees revolves around the significant economic efficiency of bots.

These automated accounts are incredibly cost-effective to operate, requiring only a fraction of a cent to sustain.

However, instituting even a nominal monthly fee for users would fundamentally alter the cost dynamics for running bots. Each bot would necessitate a unique payment mechanism, effectively raising the expenses associated with their deployment.
