Breaking News: Fisker Ocean Beats Tesla Model Y

The recently launched Fisker Ocean electric SUV has surpassed the EPA range of its competitor, the Tesla Model Y.

Henrik Fisker, the renowned car designer, revealed on Instagram that the Ocean boasts a range of 356 miles at a full charge.

Subsequently, the EPA confirmed that the Fisker Ocean offers up to 360 miles of driving range, surpassing Fisker’s own initial estimate and making it the longest-range electric SUV priced under $200,000 in the United States.

The Ocean has also received official clearance from the U.S. government for sale, with deliveries scheduled to commence this month. The EPA’s range estimate is based on the 2024 Fisker Ocean Extreme model, equipped with a 113-kWh “Hyper Range” battery pack, all-wheel drive, and 20-inch wheels. Different trims and configurations will have varying ranges, and the impact of alternative wheel sizes on range is minimal.

Previously, in Europe, the Fisker Ocean achieved an estimated range of 440 miles on the WLTP cycle, making it the longest-range EV available on the continent. The Ocean Extreme model features two electric motors generating a combined 468 horsepower, which can be boosted to 564 hp for short bursts.

The starting price for the Ocean Extreme is $68,999, while the more affordable Sport trim begins at $37,499 before incentives and fees. The Launch Edition models are expected to start delivery in the United States by the end of June.
