It was reported on Friday that the Punjab police carried out a series of crackdowns against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers, resulting in the arrest of various activists and local leaders.
The police conducted a search at the residence of Mehtab Hussain, a senior PTI leader and candidate from PP-158 in Lahore, but he was not present.
In Multan, the police apprehended the son of former MPA Javed Akhtar Ansari in a raid, as well as PTI workers in other areas, including Mian Channu, Lodhran, Vehari and Faisalabad.
The residence of Arslan Butt, a former staff officer of Shahbaz Gill, was also raided by the police in Burewala, but he was not found at his home.
