He decided to get a Japanese quote tattooed on his arm to capture the essence of the philosophy, but unfortunately, the tattoo ended up being meaningless due to a spelling error.
The quote that Chris chose translates to “It’s better to be a warrior in a garden than to be a gardener in a war,” which he could not fit in its entirety on his arm.
As a result, he opted to just use the words “gardener” and “warrior” in his tattoo. However, a few days after getting the tattoo, Chris learned from a friend that the artist had missed a line, rendering the quote unintelligible and meaningless.
Despite the disappointment, Chris was fortunate enough to get the tattoo amended for free. However, this incident serves as a warning to those considering getting tattoos in languages they are not familiar with.
