Microsoft plans job cuts in Germany, up to 120 positions at risk

Microsoft is reportedly planning to cut up to 120 jobs in Germany as part of its global job cut initiative, according to a report by business news outlet WirtschaftsWoche. The tech giant is said to be in the process of informing affected employees and is planning to offer them the opportunity to apply for other roles within the company.

The job cuts in Germany are part of Microsoft’s larger global restructuring efforts, which were announced last year. The company had said that it plans to cut around 5,000 jobs globally, primarily in its sales and marketing departments, in order to streamline its operations and focus on its cloud computing and artificial intelligence offerings.

Despite the job cuts, Microsoft has been performing well financially, reporting strong revenue growth in its most recent financial quarter.
